Membrane Pretreatment Chemicals

Increase pre-filtration efficiency, remove chlorine and control pH in your feedwater systems

Feedwater to membrane systems often have been pretreated with chlorine to retard microbiological growth. This chlorine, however, can irreversibly damage many thin-film composite membranes. Veolia membrane pretreatment is designed to remove free and combined chlorine from reverse osmosis (RO) and ultrafiltration (UF) feedwaters.

In addition, filter-aid and pH control agents from Veolia can increase pre-filtration efficiency and help improve productivity in membrane systems for worry-free RO feedwater. Veolia's solutions are suitable for direct membrane filtration processes (UF/MF), multi-media filters and clarifiers, and other gravitational separation systems.

Featured Products

BetzDearborn* Dechlorinating Agents

BetzDearborn is a very cost-effective product used to remove free and combined chlorine from reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration feedwaters. The BetzDearborn product quickly deactivates chlorine and protects membranes from damage.

SoliSep* Anionic Polymeric Flocculant

SoliSep is designed to function in membrane pretreatment applications as a coagulant aid or a flocculant to help in the removal of particulate matter, turbidity, and color.

The active components in this product contain long-chain organic molecules that use charge functionality to pull together coagulated solids into a more dense and heavier floc. This dense. Rapid-forming floc quickly settles out of the feed water and is readily removed by media filters and other pretreatment unit operations.

Pretreatment Chemicals Use

Why use water pretreatment chemicals?

There are a variety of reasons why you should use water pretreatment chemicals for your membrane system. Impurities that build up on the membranes surface during operations can negatively impact membrane efficiency, leaving these deposits to cause loss in output and/or rejection levels and reduce total system performance.

Veolia is a world class leaded in membrane separations treatment technology, offering a full range of specialty products and services to ensure your membrane system is fully optimized.
