It’s been several months since the world was introduced to a crisis unlike anything we have seen in recent history. I know these are tough times for us all and we are all doing our very best to ensure the safety and well-being of our colleagues, our families and our communities. Since day one, my top priorities have been to ensure employees remain safe, while maintaining business continuity.
As we continue to adjust to what has become our new norm, it is important to recognize how much has been done to adapt, to pivot and to overcome. Every day, I am inspired by the good I see around the world and the selfless acts of our healthcare professionals, first responders, delivery drivers, and essential business workers. I thank them for their sacrifice and for their commitment.
I am also inspired by what I have seen from SUEZ employees around the world. Because of their efforts,
- our global manufacturing plants and labs are up and running,
- we are meeting production needs and fulfilling customer orders,
- our supply chain is operating effectively, and
- we continue to identify any potential gaps and find solutions to get the raw materials we need to produce our technology.
Where necessary, our field service representatives are on site assisting customers to keep them moving, and elsewhere we are using remote monitoring and other digital tools to help customers maintain their operations. Wherever possible, our teams are working remotely and staying engaged through virtual meetings. They are all essential to this business and to the industry, and they have my sincere appreciation.
We recognize that you, our customers and partners, are providing essential products and services around the world—and in some cases are directly impacting the fight against COVID-19. To name a few, you are providing drinking water and power to communities, continuing critical water and wastewater operations, refining oil for fuel, producing food and beverages to communities around the world, producing hand sanitizer and disinfectants, and making vaccines and other experimental drugs that could potentially stop this global pandemic. I promise you that we will continue to do our work, so you have what you need to do yours.
These are challenging times, but we will get through them. I ask that everyone take precautions to remain safe and healthy. Let’s look after each other so we can come through this crisis stronger than when we went into it.
