Enhancing Rum Distillery Productivity through Process Fouling Control and Feedstock Flexibility
Daniel Jones - Food & Beverage Industry Leader, Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions
Yediel Melendez - Operational Excellence Leader, Suntory Global Spirits
In this session, Veolia will present in collaboration with a key customer about the enhancement of beverage alcohol production through the improvement of operational performance and yield from fouling rate reduction in the distillation and evaporation units. A case study will be shared by a rum distillery manager where their rate of recurring shutdowns due to process fouling was significantly reduced and the production capacity was increased by 21 days per year. This improvement enabled the producer to reduce CIP (clean-in-place) cycle time and frequency, as well as eliminate hydroblasting.
Veolia will explore how beverage alcohol producers can tackle operational challenges such as:
- Feedstock flexibility and cost reduction strategy
- Increased run length
- Reduced downtime
- Chemical (CIP chemistry) and water reduction
- Improve Carbon Score
