Nigerian Oil and Gas Company selects SUEZ Aquasource Z-XS

Middle East and Africa

SUEZ’s aquasource* Z-XS ultrafiltration system will be used in a facility that houses oil and gas employees in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Local EPC contractor Mercury Engineering chose the system for drinking water treatment because it is easy to use, compact, and scalable. The aquasource systems can be installed in one day, and meet or exceed regulatory requirements regardless of source water quality.

SUEZ’s aquasource Z-XS is a compact, scalable, and automated ultrafiltration (UF) unit suitable for a variety of raw water sources, as well as drinking water and industrial process water treatment. Aquasource Z-XS features ZeeWeed 700B UF membrane modules to ensure consistent and improved water quality, including removal of particulates, bacteria, and viruses with the ability to produce up to 350 m3/day of clean water.

Users of aquasource Z-XS see lower operational costs as a result of reduced chemical and water consumption combined with minimal fiber breakage. The ZW700B membrane, which features SevenBore* technology, provides high mechanical strength – 10x that of single fibers – and operates in a wide range of pH conditions. An inside-out flow orientation also eliminates the air scouring step and additional related equipment.

The sale includes two aquasource Z-XS modules, which will be operated in parallel to produce 260 m3/day, and is scalable to 520 m3/day during periods of high occupancy. SUEZ will also supply a service package and train local operators.
