Facens inaugurates laboratory in partnership with Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions

New space on campus reinforces the University Center's commitment to sustainability

 

(São Paulo, Brazil – DATE) – Facens University Center and Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions today inaugurated a laboratory for research and development, academic learning and professional training with the aim of developing sustainability projects involving both Veolia employees and Facens students. The space, located on the Campus for Higher Education, marks the beginning of the partnership between the French multinational organization and the University Center.

“The partnership with Veolia, initiated through the inauguration of this laboratory, is another important milestone for Facens within the context of sustainability and partnerships with leading high-tech companies. In 2022, for the second consecutive year,  Facens was considered the most sustainable private higher education institution in Brazil, according to the UI GreenMetric ranking, which was made possible through initiatives such as the partnership with Veolia we now have available here on our campus," says Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, executive director of IP Facens.

The Laboratory at Facens Campus, dedicated to helping customers across all industries as well as the municipal sector achieve water and process sustainability, will be deployed by Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions,  providing opportunities for professional development and research initiatives aimed towards creating environmental value and resource sustainability.

“The implementation of this laboratory at Facens reflects our social commitment in the region and opens a brilliant path for the integration of future professionals in digital development initiatives for industries, in addition to the expansion of R&D capabilities focused on environmental solutions for the country and the region," noted Damian Serra, Technical Director for chemical and digital solutions at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions  during the inauguration ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by the Academic Director of Facens, Fabiano Prado Marques;      the Executive Director of IP Facens, Paulo Roberto de Carvalho; and Mauro Cruz, Executive Vice President for Latin America at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions.
