Internships programme

Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions continually seeks to hire the best minds in technology, engineering, and environmental sustainability. Our internships give students real-world experience and understanding of what it's like to work at the company. We make sure that our interns do meaningful work that makes a significant impact on our business.
As an intern, you’ll get a sense of pride and accomplishment knowing you’re working for an organization that positively contributes to the planet's future and its resources while being exposed to new, innovative technologies, solutions, and practices. We understand that you may have questions as you go through the application process, so we pulled together answers below to some of the most frequently asked questions about our internship program.

What kind of internships do you offer, and where can I find your current openings?
We offer two types of experiential programs for students and graduates: the global 2023-2024 Graduate Rotational Program (GRP) and 2023 Summer Internship Program across all our business functions in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. From engineering, IT, marketing, and supply chain, students can expect to find an array of fields that meet their interest. Although the deadline is rolling, we encourage students to apply sooner rather than later. Please note, that we currently, we are not able to accommodate students and graduates who require visa sponsorship. Our internships for the next season are now open so check them out on our career site.

How long are the internships?
The duration of the summer internships varies according to location; at least six weeks in the United States and the Caribbean and 12-16 months in Canada. The internship typically begins in late spring and early summer. The GRP is an 18-month program and begins in September.

How can I prepare for an interview?
We recommend that students take some time to learn the basics about Veolia before their interview. Information can be found on our website. We also recommend that you prepare for situational questions and gather any questions you may have regarding the position, department, and organization to ask the interviewer.

What are the requirements to apply for an internship at Veolia?
Students applying for a summer internship must be a rising sophomore, having completed their freshman year of university. A minimum GPA of 3.2 is required for undergraduate applicants. To be eligible for the GRP, you’ll need to be a graduate by the time the program begins in September and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

What schools do you typically hire interns from?
We remain committed to an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion which is why we recruit from hundreds of colleges and universities around the world. The best talent comes from a variety of backgrounds and academic experiences. Our past intern classes include Ivy leagues, state and liberal arts schools, technology and research intuitions, as well as historically Black colleges and universities.

What does a typical workday look like as an intern?
Your typical day varies based on your position. Our internships involve real, hands-on work, such as working in one of our labs, traveling to customer sites, and completing projects with various teams on-site. The nature of the work is diverse and can involve everything from analyzing water samples in a lab environment, to equipment and technology trouble shooting in an industrial setting. All internship positions will be full-time and on-site unless otherwise stated.

Will I get paid or receive college/university credits for this internship?
This program provides interns with competitive pay. Interns will also be given the opportunity to attend trainings and hands-on work experience throughout the program.

Will I be hired after the completion of my internship?
Internships are designed to prepare our intern talent for successful and fulfilling careers with Veolia. Our goal is to hire most of the people who successfully complete the program!

Will I be expected to use my own equipment, such as a personal laptop?
Interns are given company laptops and other required equipment to use during their internship. You bring your curiosity and desire to learn, we’ll take care of the rest!
